SUMMON Parts Ways With Bassist, Guitarist
February 16, 2007Long-running U.S. death metallers SUMMON have parted ways with bassist Chas "Necromodeus" Schoals (bass, backing vocals) and guitarist Ed "Dysentery" Ryan (guitars) "due to personal issues stemming from years of working together," according to a statement released by vocalist/guitarist Sean "Xaphan" Peters. The group's remaining members — Peters and Joshua Moore (drums) — have been rehearsing with new bassist Steven Morgan for the band's upcoming, as-yet-untitled EP, to be released on Moribund Records. SUMMON plans to return to Hellion Studios with producer Dave Otero to record the follow-up to the 2005 classic "Fallen". Plans also exist for the band to film a video and hit the road this summer in support of the new EP.
Schoals is currently playing with Michigan hell-thrashers NOCTURNAL FEAR, a pairing that should prove equally malevolent.
